Sub-Verge is a short, atmospheric sci-fi narrative puzzle where the most dangerous weapon is conversation. Trapped inside a failing deep-sea submersible called the SubVee, you must survive by manipulating a fractured band of divers whose fears, grudges, and secrets threaten to tear them apart faster than the pressure outside.
Choose your mission and descend into an unrelenting ocean. Your arrival sparks a dilemma: do you follow directives from the Surfacers—protectors of an overworld city who claim to keep the deep’s horrors at bay—or do you side with an underwater base of misfits and renegades hidden in the darkest fathoms? Either way, the divers don’t agree on anything for long, and your only way forward is to guide them toward reluctant consensus.
How it plays:
- Psychological conversation puzzle: choose the right diver at the right time, read the room, and pull the correct conversational “handles” to gain leverage.
- Uncover alliances and betrayals: extract truths, unlock secrets, and steer shifting loyalties before panic sets in.
- Time pressure: your SubVee is leaking—delay too long and the rising water will end the discussion permanently.
The sea is oppressive and unknown, and you are never truly alone. An eldritch presence stalks the deep: when the shadow of the Krake appears, divers scatter and return shaken, whispering about their missing leader—an enigmatic figure known only as The Mind. Each encounter with the deep’s horror ratchets up the tension, forcing you to decide whether to follow orders, rebel, or exploit the group’s dysfunction to secure your own escape.
Multiple endings ensure your choices matter: climb back toward the surface, vanish into the abyss, or meet something far worse. Every conversation can narrow your options—or open an unexpected way out.
Featuring stylized visuals, a haunting ambient soundscape, and an ocean full of unsettling details (including strange fish), Sub-Verge delivers a claustrophobic descent into paranoia, persuasion, and survival—where going too deep in the wrong direction can be fatal.
