Power failures, damaged infrastructure, and escalating emergencies can push a functioning crew into chaos within minutes.

The outside threats are immediate: aggressive alien life forms swarm the base and force players to fight back-to-back, defend key areas, and survive sudden attacks. But the real paranoia comes from within. Somewhere among the miners may be a hidden traitor with their own objectives—sabotaging repairs, disrupting coordination, stealing ore, blocking airlocks, or quietly eliminating teammates when no one is watching. One player might be loading crates for shipment while another secretly dumps the ore into a crater, turning the entire mission into a psychological battle over trust, timing, and proof.

MoonMiners emphasizes unpredictable situations and high-stakes teamwork. Friendly fire is always on, meaning a careless shot or panicked firefight can be as lethal as the monsters.
