Debris

In Debris you pilot a NavComp-equipped salvage drone to Martian orbit, locating scattered satellite shards, approaching with care, grabbing each piece, and praying you reach home in one piece.

Every scrap once belonged to a satellite. Repurpose the past to secure the future by crafting modules for your drone, or testing its limits to learn what happens when you push the craft too far. The station you must sustain isn’t static either—you can grow greenhouses, install solar panels, and add new systems to stay alive.

Core gameplay

  • Use the navigation suit of your drone to locate debris, reach it, and recover it without getting destroyed.
  • Build and upgrade: craft the best drone you can, or discover how a flawed build can become a liability.
  • Manage your station’s infrastructure—greenhouses, power generation, life support—and keep the crew breathing, fed, and warm.

Resource management

Every remaining resource matters. If you run out you risk starvation, suffocation, dehydration, or power loss. With enough resources you can unlock essential modules and keep the mission alive even under pressure. The balance between gathering debris and sustaining life defines every decision you make.

Dynamic story

Your actions shape the narrative. Debris reveals fragments of a larger tale, and every choice influences the orbit, the station, and Mars itself. The story adapts to how you play, offering multiple paths and outcomes. Will you challenge the system or rewrite it?

Context

Setting: 2060. Humanity reaches Mars amid a dangerous Kessler Syndrome, where satellites collide and create cascading debris. The cycle can be broken only by removing fuel and breaking the chain reaction—every second counts as the butterfly effect accelerates toward catastrophe.

About the creator

Debris is a passion project from Felix, a computer science student in Vienna. This is his first game headed to Steam, born from curiosity about orbital mechanics and a fascination with “what-if” scenarios. The project hints at future ideas, with ongoing development and enhancements. If you’re curious, consider adding Debris to your wishlist.
