Kinetic Neo Ornate Bout description
Kinetic Neo Ornate Bout (K.N.O.B.)
Kinetic Neo Ornate Bout is a brain-melting local multiplayer twin-stick competition built for intense 1v1 and chaotic 2v2 matches. It’s not just one game at a time: you’re constantly juggling scoring, minigames, special powers, and arena hazards—often all at once.
Two games at the same time
Ball Game (left stick): Move your paddle and knock the ball past your opponent. Classic table-tennis style scoring—21 points wins a set, and you can choose how many sets you’ll play.
Layergames (right stick): In the center of the arena, rotating minigames start mid-match. Winning them grants Abilities and increases your score multiplier with each consecutive Layergame win. Lose a Layergame and your multiplier drops—meaning ignoring Layergames can force you to score several times more just to keep up.
Layergames you’ll master under pressure
- Bunny Dodge: Decode shifting hint tiles to find the safe path and save the little character.
- Maze: Race to the exit with slippery movement—once you start moving, you keep going until a wall or a new input.
- Cave Heli: Pilot through an increasingly fast cave while still handling paddle movement—precision matters.
Abilities: bend physics, sight, and control
Coins earned from Layergames convert into four color-coded Abilities, each with a regular and charged power version. You can store up to two stacks per color, so smart timing and frequent use prevents wasting pickups. Abilities can flip boards, conjure walls and mind games, accelerate the ball, or even drag elements into the Void—turning simple rallies into ambushes.
Void Snails: push trouble into your opponent’s base
Void Snails manipulate the arena and become more dangerous as they approach a base. Build charges via quick right-stick prompts near the center, convert them into Impulses, then bounce impulses into rails to speed a snail toward your opponent (or slow one heading toward you). Manage your generator carefully: storing too many impulses can overcharge and stun you.
2v2 teamwork (with a twist)
K.N.O.B. has a steep learning curve, so 2v2 lets teammates split responsibilities—though control assignments can shuffle, keeping everyone on their toes. No online focus here: this is designed to be played locally with friends.
