Harvest in the Dark is a horror survival, farming simulation, and online multiplayer experience set in a cursed, overgrown manor. Your goal is to resist eerie entities and break the curse that haunts the grounds. Work solo or with up to two companions to survive the strange balance between daylight calm and nightmarish darkness.

Core gameplay

By day you explore and clear wastelands around the manor, sow seeds, tend crops, and manage resources to keep your farm alive. Daylight offers a rare sense of quiet, but the looming night waits with unknown dangers. Harvesting crops yields sustenance to eat and materials to exchange for ghost coins, which power your progress and unlock new options.

A central mechanic is your fortification of the living fields. You prepare and place items crafted from hemp—talismans that block or slow the roaming spirits. Crafting and upgrading gear gives you more ways to endure the curse and push toward the manor’s hidden truths.

Night, talismans, and exploration

When night falls, the game shifts to a tense, survival-focused phase. You must guard your ripening crops, balance risk and reward, and navigate haunted corridors and terrifying zones. Place talismans to impede ghosts, and light incense to soothe or repel eerie beings as you push deeper into the manor’s mysteries.

Exploration is core to the experience. Each night reveals new layouts, eerie entities, and clues that feed into the overarching story. Interacting with a female NPC unlocks hidden content and deeper lore, inviting you to uncover long-buried secrets that connect farming to the curse’s origin.

Co-op and replayability

Harvest in the Dark supports 1–3 players in online cooperative play. Teamwork matters as you divide tasks, defend crops, and coordinate ritual actions to survive the night. The game emphasizes strategic freedom—you can choose how to approach farming, ritual crafting, and exploration.
