Taguan description

Taguan

Taguan follows David Lagani, an ordinary Filipino worker whose routine is shattered when news spreads of a figure breaking into homes and making people disappear. Night after night, the days feel longer and every sound grows closer. With danger looming at the edge of his doorway, David’s only option is to keep moving through a city that seems to breathe fear back at him.

Derived from the Filipino word Tago, meaning to hide, Taguan echoes the childhood game of Hide and Seek while turning it into a psychological nightmare. The game uses fear not as loud spectacle, but as a shadow that seeps into rooms, hallways, and conversations—pulling the player into a slow-burn experience about observation, paranoia, and what a community hides from itself.

Key features and experience:

  • Estimated playtime: 1 hour and beyond, designed for a single-sitting experience.
  • Slow-burn Filipino societal horror with heavy psychological elements
  • Interactive fiction-driven narrative that unfolds through exploration and choice
  • Walking simulator–style gameplay focused on atmosphere, storytelling, and mood
  • Low-poly, semi-realistic visuals that emphasize unease and claustrophobic spaces
  • Full Filipino voice-overs for authentic immersion
  • Gore and violence present, but used to intensify character-driven tension rather than action

The game centers on atmosphere, theme, and the weight of communal fear rather than traditional action or survival mechanics. It is a personally developed project intended to be experienced in one cohesive session and to explore how fear, secrecy, and social dynamics shape a neighborhood under threat. Taguan invites you to step into a tense, intimate setting where private spaces reveal themselves as traps, and every decision can alter what remains hidden in the shadows.
