Treasurer description
Treasurer
Step into the worn robes of a state treasurer in an ancient Slavic realm. You are the balance that holds a fragile union together: the army, the church, the treasury, and the people all pull in different directions. Your choices shape the fate of the state and determine whether peace prevails or chaos takes hold.
In this strategic idle-inspired simulation, you manage four factions. Each has its own demands and resources, and every action moves the state toward stability or peril. Cultivate one alliance and another may suffer; fail to keep the scales even and the state fractures, ending your run.
Scrolls arrive with requests from the army, the church, the treasury, and the people. Read the conditions, weigh the costs, and decide: accept or decline. Approving a faction’s request grows that faction’s resources, but another faction loses ground. The challenge is to balance competing needs while preventing any group from rising too high or falling too far.
You earn gold for your stewardship, your personal balance. Invest gold into faction tasks to push their projects, or buy upgrades to deepen your long-term power. But tread carefully: debt ends the game and leaves the state bereft of a treasurer.
Gems offer another path to progress. Exchange gold for gems inside the game—rare stones that unlock longer-term growth and opportunities. Your progress is not lost after a single session: upgrades you purchase persist outside the run, strengthening every new attempt.
How does progression work between runs? You spend gems to increase your starting gold, so each new session begins with a growing capital and easier access to opportunities. You can also invest gems to raise the initial resources of each faction, laying a stronger foundation from the first moves. Fund faction tasks with gold to direct their efforts where the state needs them most, then wait for the outcome: a successful task yields resources and profit; a failure costs gold and weakens that faction.
Upgrades function like a climbing ladder with escalating costs. You invest gold to boost resources, expand income, and improve your ability to maintain balance. After each upgrade, you receive permanent bonuses, but the price rises with every level—encouraging careful planning and foresight. The run lasts indefinitely as long as balance is kept; collapse of any faction or overwhelming power shift ends the game, and you restart with the knowledge of a seasoned treasurer.
