Glyph Gambit is a turn-based tactical roguelite inspired by chess, Dark Souls, and grid‑based dungeon crawlers. Each run drops you into dangerous arenas where every move matters and the objective is clear: destroy the enemy King before they destroy yours.

You command multiple upgradable pieces on compact battle grids, facing distinct factions whose movement and attack patterns demand careful planning. Equip a flexible loadout to bend the odds: Edges boost offense, Shields fortify defense, and Gems upgrade both. Central to your progression are Glyphs—the soul of your run. Glyphs empower your pieces, unlock new abilities, and fuel long‑term growth.

Glyphs are fragile. If you fall in battle, they drop on that level. To reclaim them you must return to the same encounter and clear it again; fail once more and those Glyphs are lost forever. This creates a high‑stakes loop where short runs feed meaningful permanent upgrades.

Battles unfold on small, focused boards where positioning and danger zones matter. Predict enemy intent, outmaneuver rival Kings, and solve new tactical puzzles with each run. The game emphasizes smart planning, bold plays, and adapting to ever‑changing encounters.

Expect a roster of distinct factions and bosses—Goblin raiders, Sage spellcasters, Usurpers, Plague creatures, Warlords, and ancient Tyrants—each bringing unique attack shapes and patterns that push your strategy to the limit.

Build your force with a broad spectrum of items: Permanent Items usable across all runs, Run Items for a single run, Level Items for a specific stage, and Consumables used immediately. Dozens of Edges, Shields, and Gems unlock countless build possibilities, letting you tailor your approach to emerging challenges.

Glyph Gambit combines roguelite progression with a Souls‑like challenge loop: death resets the run, but permanent upgrades, unlocked items, and new Glyphs keep expanding your options. Procedural encounters and branching run paths ensure high replayability and fresh strategic choices each attempt.

The game is designed for Controllers and Steam Deck, featuring full controller support and a clean UI that plays naturally on desktop or handheld devices.
