Youchosis description

Youchosis

Step into the mind of Keith, a soul overwhelmed by psychosis after an overdose. Youchosis threads his consciousness through collapsing realms, each realm a fragment of his psyche as he searches for a “perfect afterlife.” Reality bends around every choice, every perception, and every whispered fear. The journey unfolds in a dreamlike cadence, inviting you to weigh what is real as you traverse shifting environments, eerie sights, and unsettling encounters. This is less about a single destination and more about how Keith constructs his own afterlife—and whether peace can ever be found within a fractured mind.

  • Multiple Realms – explore distinct environments that echo different facets of Keith’s psyche.
  • First-Person with Multiple POVs – experience the surreal through direct immersion and varied perspectives.
  • Psychological Gameplay – disturbing assets and atmosphere challenge perception and nerves.
  • Hard Choices & Endings – decisions shape the path and yield multiple outcomes beyond a single finale.
  • Deep Story & Non-Linear Events – a thought-provoking narrative that unfolds in non-traditional sequences.
  • Solo Experience – a tightly focused, solitary journey from start to finish.

Aesthetically, Youchosis draws from contemporary dreamcore and weirdcore influences, blending a bold, minimal visual language with expansive, uncanny landscapes. The design nods to a Frutiger Aero-inspired vibe, emphasizing stark typography and deliberate emptiness to heighten unease and immersion.

The project is a personal undertaking by Kelvin Riley, delivering a cohesive solo experience. Voice work is performed by Jake Stewart-Noble, with the story crafted by Kelvin Riley and Genevieve Chador. Music and mood come together under the guidance of assistant composer Teunscheepstra, creating a haunting audio backdrop that deepens the psychological tension as you drift between realms.

Youchosis invites players who seek a cerebral, atmospheric odyssey. With its first-person immersion, shifting narratives, and choices that ripple through endings, it offers a compact, intensely personal adventure—where the line between mind and reality becomes a terrain to be traversed, understood, and perhaps redefined.
