Ergenekon description

Ergenekon Epic — Game Description

The Ergenekon Epic is a cinematic game that retells the legendary survival and rebirth of the Göktürks. Led by Gökbörü, the Sky God’s messenger, the last four survivors endure deception and hardship to preserve their race and rise again. The narrative unfolds across two intertwined time zones, inviting players to witness history through vivid storytelling and action.

In one timeline, you follow Kayan Khan, son of Hakan, as the remaining Göktürks take refuge in Ergenekon, fight to stay alive, and guide their people toward safety. Four centuries later, the story shifts to Tirek, a young shepherd, who experiences the exodus of a strengthened nation from Ergenekon under the leadership of Sky-Eyed Gökbörü. The game uses seamless transitions to connect these eras, offering a continuous cinematic journey rather than a traditional open-ended quest.

Gameplay centers on cinematic storytelling with selective interactivity. While the world of Ergenekon is semi‑open and you can roam and ride horses, the progression remains mostly linear to serve the epic. The experience lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours and focuses on telling the legend rather than offering a broad leveling system or side quests. Mini‑games punctuate the ride, including sword fighting, sheep herding, and deer hunting, enriching the historical atmosphere without breaking the narrative flow.

The Ergenekon Epic situates itself as more than a story—it's a chain of historical events faithfully handed down through generations. While some elements are dramatized for gameplay, the core aim is to convey the enduring legend of the Göktürks and their path from peril to resurgence. The game invites players to learn, witness, and explain the epic, honoring the traditional storytelling that Turkish children are taught to recount.

Language support is broad, ensuring accessible storytelling through in‑game text and subtitles. Menu and subtitles are available in Turkish, Azerbaijani, Uzbek, Uyghur, Turkmen, Tatar, Kazakh, Chuvash, Bashkir, Mongolian, Hungarian, English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, and Chinese, among others, allowing a diverse audience to engage with this ancient saga.
