ELbab description
ELbab
ELbab is a roguelite auto-battler set inside an endlessly expanding library, where every run is a self-contained climb through tile-based floors filled with combat rooms, rewards, and pivotal choices. A typical run lasts 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, making it ideal for focused sessions or a longer “one more floor” push.
Progress happens on a grid-like dungeon path, but the heart of the game is buildcraft: you’ll collect and improve books, chase synergies, and shape a character’s direction much like assembling a hack-and-slash build—except combat is fully automated. Your skill comes from planning: deciding what to keep, what to upgrade, and when to pivot. Since battles resolve on their own, most of your attention goes to optimization, routing, and resource management.
ELbab is designed to be mouse-friendly and comfortable for relaxed, multitask-friendly play. You can let fights play out while you sip coffee or watch something on the side, then return to make the next set of choices.
Builds, rooms, and meaningful trade-offs
- Room of Awakening helps define your run by offering enough Unique Books to set a clear build direction—similar to choosing a class.
- Treasure Rooms grant rewards such as Books and Ink, supporting upgrades and progression.
- Room of Conversion transforms Normal Books into Unique Books based on attached modifiers, adding controlled randomness for targeted hunting.
Choices are intentionally tight: the inventory is small by design, forcing commitment and prioritization. Builds also interact with STR / INT / DEX requirements, encouraging you to invest in books that match your character’s naturally favored stats—especially early on.
Alpha-state challenge
The difficulty leans tough, and because ELbab is currently in alpha and developed solo, balance and enemy variety are still evolving. Ongoing updates aim to refine tuning, expand skills (including more Skill Books and additional skill choice systems), and improve dungeon randomness and long-term customization features.
