Lost Viking: Somewhere in Byzantine Empire
Lost Viking: Somewhere in Byzantine Empire is a fantasy retro “hero simulator” set in an alternate history where the Earth is divided among warring gods. The Norse, Greek, Egyptian, and Celtic pantheons fracture the world into rival empires that clash for supremacy. You play as the second son of a Viking Jarl, dispatched to the ruins of the Byzantine Empire—land seized by Northmen—to prove your worth. The conquered palace still guards the Valknut, Odin’s legendary artifact. You are not armed with it, but you can channel its power like other challengers. Through your father’s influence and gold, you acquire Valknut Gems. These mystic stones let you cheat death: if you fall in battle, a gem is consumed to rewind time and resurrect you at the last checkpoint.
- Hybrid Combat System: master the blade in third‑person melee or switch to an FPS view for precise strikes. Use 3 distinct attack types and clever combat tricks to outwit Goblins, Jötnar, savage beasts, and rival warriors who block your path.
- Yggdrasil Skill Tree: grow from a cautious beginner to a legendary fighter. Level up to unlock perks that boost speed, agility, and magical prowess. Learn practical skills like Hunter for tracking and scavenging food, or unlock devastating spellcraft to turn the tide of battles.
- Survival & RPG Elements: life isn’t measured by trophies alone—manage Hunger with food, gather loot, and rest at checkpoints to recover Health and Magic Energy. Craft, scavenge, and plan your journeys across a world torn by divine politics and brutal encounters.
- Diplomacy & Choices: Violence isn’t always the answer. Use Diplomacy to negotiate with humanoid foes or uncover lore through dialogue with unique NPCs, including Ratatoskr the guide who carries secrets of the world’s shifting alliances.
- Hardcore Challenge: tailor your difficulty from “Chicken” to “Godlike,” with direct consequences on starting lives and enemy density. Each choice reshapes your risk, rewards, and how you approach the empire’s perilous intrigues.
- Retro Aesthetics & Movement: engage a stylized, old‑school aesthetic with score leaderboards, hidden secrets, and a physics‑driven movement system that rewards timing and exploration as you chart a path through mythic Byzantium.
