Letterally is a strategic, turn‑based roguelike where vocabulary is your weapon. This is more than knowing long words—it's about finding game‑breaking synergies and crafting powerful combos. Your ultimate goal is to conquer a 10‑level board, building a run that can bend the rules in your favor and carry you to victory through clever planning and sharp wordplay.

Three stages per level: Levels are a three‑part gauntlet. Stages 1 & 2 put you on your own, with 5 turns to hit a target score. Think ahead and optimize every move; every saved turn becomes an extra against the boss. Stage 3 is the boss fight, featuring one of over 20 unique foes who can rewrite the rules of the board. You’ll receive 6 turns plus any saved turns—so smart management of your turns and your tiles matters more than raw word power.

Between stages: the Shop shapes your run with a huge pool of powerups. Choose from:

• Totems: Equip up to 5 relics that grant constant support or trigger effects based on your actions and synergies.
• Tile Enhancements & Editions: Apply persistent effects directly onto individual letter tiles for lasting impact.
• Boosters: Passive rewards that trigger when you meet specific turn goals during play.
• Consumables: One‑shot items for clutch bonuses when you need them most.

During stages you can trigger Cell Modifiers to gain instant advantages such as score multipliers, extra coins, or free shop items. Bosses aren’t just high scorers—they’re rule‑rewriters. Faces include Phteven (bans a letter), Slav (vowels lose value), Sinkhole (expanding dead cells), Cornerstone (blocks around the last letter), and many others, each demanding fresh strategies.

Progression and replayability drive Letterally forward. Complete meta‑progression tasks to unlock new Totems, Enhancements, and items that appear in future runs. Beat all 10 boards to unlock harder stages, or push into Endless Mode to keep climbing the difficulty curve and set records. Multiple difficulty levels let you tailor the challenge from beginner to grand master.

Challenge modes test your mastery:

• Vs. CPU Vanilla — pure 1v1 duels with no powerups.
• Bingo — score a 7+ letter bingo on every turn.
• Treasure Hunt — collect all coins on the board within a limited number of turns.
