GumPop! description
GumPop!
GumPop! is a 3D puzzle platformer that blends clever, physics-like problem solving with playful platforming, drawing inspiration from the inventive puzzle design of Portal and the bubbly charm of Bubble Bobble. Your goal is simple to say, but tricky to master: make your way through a sweet factory filled with obstacles and threats by using a set of special bubbles and their unique abilities.
You play as Wilhelmina (Billie) “Bubble” Tuck, an exterminator called in for a job that has gone completely sideways. One of the world’s biggest and most famous sweet factories has been overrun by mutated, oversized, dangerous sweets—and it’s your task to clear them out. Each area challenges you to think creatively, combining movement, timing, and bubble mechanics to progress.
The core gameplay revolves around solving challenging puzzles using various bubble types. These bubbles aren’t just visual flair—they’re tools. You’ll need to experiment with their different properties and abilities, then apply them to the environment to overcome hazards, navigate platforming sections, and outsmart the factory’s sugary menace. Expect rooms that reward observation and experimentation, where the right bubble choice can turn an impossible route into a satisfying solution.
GumPop! was originally created as a student project by the team Anonymous Animals at Mediadesign University (mdh) in Berlin. The project was developed by a multidisciplinary group covering game design, art, programming, and production, supported by dedicated project lecturers.
