AUDION description
AUDION is an abstract, single-player, arcade-style VR game built around spatial strategy and fast, physical play. Picture the intensity of classic score-chasing shooters—reimagined in full 3D VR—where awareness, timing, and movement matter as much as reflexes.
Set in a geometric, audio-reactive space, you face swarms of dangerous musical objects called Ions. There are no guns: instead of shooting, you bond with Ions and manipulate them using VR physicality—grab, pull, swing, smash, deflect, and rip. Your objective is to split Ions into smaller and smaller pieces until you clear the level. The loop is tight and high-energy, quickly ramping into frantic moments that reward precision and smart positioning.
The current Early Access build includes 4 frenetic levels that increase in difficulty and complexity. Each run can feel different thanks to a powerup load-out system (called Reactors), letting you experiment with combinations that dramatically change how you control crowds, survive pressure, and trigger explosive chain reactions. These Reactor combos are designed for replayability and strategic planning—choose what to bring, then adapt on the fly as the arena fills up.
Key features include:
- Immersive first-person VR gameplay focused on movement and spatial awareness
- High-speed arcade pacing with escalating intensity
- Strategic Reactor (powerup) combinations with major run-changing impact
- Abstract geometric visuals with strong audio-reactive effects
- Menus and tutorial localized into Japanese
- An electrifying, evolving soundtrack that builds as you play
AUDION is being developed by Speed of Dark Studios, a small indie team based in Japan led by Kasson Crooker, a veteran Audio Director and Project Director known for major rhythm titles. Music is central to the experience, with the game’s soundtrack created under his Symbion Project moniker. With Early Access development still underway, player feedback is a core part of shaping balance, tuning, and the overall feel of the game.
Not a sit-down experience—AUDION is made to get you moving.
