Unbound

Unbound is a fast, focused 2D precision-platformer set in a hazardous retro sci-fi future. You play as a wrongfully imprisoned monkey who has broken out and must fight for freedom by escaping a hostile planet and reaching an off-world colony. The problem: you’re not just running from the environment—you’re being actively hunted by the prison guard you left behind.

Built around tight controls and momentum, Unbound challenges you to master precise movement across three handcrafted levels. Jump, climb, and dash through sequences designed to test timing, accuracy, and quick decision-making. Each stage is packed with tricky platforming setups where a single mistake can cost you, pushing you to learn routes, refine your execution, and keep moving under pressure.

The chase is constant. As you push forward, your pursuer stays on your heels, turning every obstacle into a split-second choice: play it safe and lose ground, or take the risky line and maintain your lead. This creates a tense, forward-driving pace that rewards confidence and mastery, especially when navigating the most demanding sections.

Visually, Unbound leans into a retro sci-fi aesthetic with varied environments that help the world feel bigger than its 2D format. You’ll travel from an underground prison into a dystopian city and onward to a high-tech spaceport, each area offering its own atmosphere and hazards as your escape escalates.

For players who want an extra test, every level includes optional challenge routes with even tougher trials. Succeed, and you’ll earn bananas as rewards for skillful play—ideal for completionists and anyone looking to prove they can conquer everything the game hides in its hardest corners.

Unbound also supports replayability by tracking your performance. After each run, the game records your time, bananas collected, and death count, then compares your results to your personal best. A built-in speedrun timer can be enabled to help you chase cleaner runs, faster routes, and a new best time.
