Starframe Station description

Starframe Station is a physics-driven sandbox survival game set on a randomized planet. Build, weld, and manipulate a modular zone around the station using a lean, hands-on toolkit. The challenge comes from a harsh environment and unforgiving physics that demand careful planning and inventive contraptions. Each run is unique, with a changing landscape and resource layout that rewards clever engineering.

In the core mode, you right-click inside the active "zone" to start building. Move, resize, combine, split, and delete shapes, then connect two shapes and open the joint menu to create linked components. You can freely assemble inside the zone to craft your machine ramps, supports, and mechanisms that stretch toward your goal. The zone acts as a flexible workshop, letting you test different layouts before committing to a design.

Zone modules let you expand and modify the zone itself. Ensure you "unweld" or weld segments correctly: unwelded modules do not create a functional zone, so plan before you start expanding. Focus on one wall to activate the zone and unlock construction.

Survival Scenario drives the core loop: a randomized spawn on a planet with average gravity provides initial minimal resources. Build a contraption to pull a boulder back to the station, thereby increasing your resources. Venture east to locate an abandoned miner; with power and storage you can activate the miner to harvest even more resources. Power and storage unlock the miner's output and can tilt the balance toward a faster or more resilient build.

Rare resources unlock more Zone Modules, enabling you to modify and extend your zone. With more modules you can lift, torch, and weld new segments, but careful planning is required. The goal is to balance resources, build capabilities, and survive the planet’s challenges while expanding your operational area.

The physics system is general and playful: you could attach a thruster to a planet to nudge its orbit, or rig creative solutions to move heavy objects. The game is deliberately unforgiving, so expect trial and error and frequent restarts. Experiment with gravity, inertia, and propulsion to solve practical problems like lifting heavy sections, stabilizing a platform, or nudging objects into position.

Current state and controls: this is an early build that is rough around the edges and may crash, especially when deleting shapes after hard collisions. Save often. You can enable god mode with G for testing, and press Esc to view the complete controls list. Controls are documented in-game, with common actions mapped to the mouse for building and the keyboard for quick toggles.

Future goals include more sound and visual effects, additional modules and joint options, randomized asteroids, planets, and moons, plus a more flexible content system that makes resources, costs, and production easier to tweak. The developer invites player feedback to steer development. There are no hidden costs or paywalls—this is an indie prototype driven by player input.
