Mount Noire description
Mount Noire is a survival-horror experience set in a dead ski resort, where every shadow hides a choice and every penny matters. You awaken in a tiny apartment under perpetual grey skies, waiting for your weekly paycheck to buy meds and, maybe, to make it back home.
Roam through panel-block courtyards, overgrown forest paths, and half-abandoned kebab spots while the town quietly turns against you. The world is populated by a rotating cast—thugs, cops, stray dogs, bottle collectors and old babas—each with their own routines. Some may help, but most will not.
Your money is real currency with real consequences. Withdraw cash and you can lose it to pickpockets, seagulls, or bad decisions, or scramble it back together by any means you can. Outfits carry weight too: the clothes you wear change how NPCs and environments respond to you, altering your chances, risks, and the way the town treats you.
System-driven NPCs move on their own schedules and react to sound, light, and your behavior. Police, thugs, rabid dogs, bottle collectors, and neighbors all shape your day, and their routines shift as you navigate the environment. Trust is scarce, safety is elusive, and every encounter can tilt the balance between staying alive and running out of luck.
The game embraces a PS1-inspired aesthetic: lo-fi 3D, heavy fog, and rough edges designed to evoke a forgotten horror game from a bygone console generation. This style reinforces the eerie, unsettled mood as you push through a world that feels both familiar and uncanny.
Mount Noire follows a strict week-based loop: live through repeating weeks where you must get cash, get meds, and get home. The cycle drives every decision, turning mundane tasks into tense acts of calculation. Money, gear, and route choice—along with the town’s unpredictable rhythms—determine how the story unfolds and how long you can endure.
Set in an urban-suburban landscape inspired by real Eastern Europe, you’ll explore abandoned apartment blocks, playgrounds, and a looming ski jump under an overcast sky. The oppressive atmosphere, coupled with your everyday struggle to survive and return home, creates a tense, unforgettable survival-horror experience where every step could be your last.
