Mei Paranormies is a 2D top‑down survival horror game in which you step into the role of Mei, a dedicated paranormal investigator, answering a call from the owner of a haunted restaurant. Your objective is to enter Nokiloc and obtain solid proof of the paranormal activity haunting the place, pushing back against fear as you uncover the truth behind the haunting.

The Nokiloc restaurant was built in the 1980s in San Francisco by Rob, its former owner. The business flourished through the late 1980s until a devastating fire in 1990 claimed the lives of a restaurant waiter and several customers. Most people were evacuated by firefighters, but a few remained trapped and perished from smoke or burns. In 1992, the restaurant was sold to Chris, who reopened after renovations, and then reports of paranormal activity began to surface again.

During night hours, spirits are often seen sitting on empty chairs, lingering in the kitchen areas, and moving through the basement and storage rooms. A spirit with a badly burned face is said to roam the hallways near the staff bedrooms, while disembodied crying and screaming noises echo through the corridors at midnight. The mounting paranormal activity affects the restaurant’s business, prompting Chris to hire Mei to discover the sources of the disturbances.

As Mei, you explore the haunted restaurant to collect proof of the supernatural. You'll encounter and document apparitions up close, search for crucial items, and solve environmental clues that reveal the story behind Nokiloc’s tragedy. You can collect keys, and haunted objects such as a ladies bag and an engagement ring, to unlock new areas and piece together what happened that night.

Mei Paranormies hands you practical tools for the investigation: an EVP recorder and an EMF meter, allowing you to interact with the spirits and record their activity as evidence. The game emphasizes facing the unknown and gathering tangible proof, rather than combat, in a tense, atmospheric 2D setting. Expect nearly half an hour of investigation as you uncover the truth behind the haunting and its lingering echoes.
