Joint Force description

Joint Force — Puzzle Adventure

Solve unique and challenging puzzles as you help two friends find their way back together. In this cerebral quest, Belcho and Nim are separated, and you must guide them to reunite across a sequence of carefully crafted levels. The goal is simple in principle, but the path is rich with clever twists and timing-based challenges that reward attentive planning and teamwork.

Core concept

Belcho and Nim are close friends whose movements are linked: even when apart, they always move in the same direction. You control their paired journey, coordinating their steps to overcome obstacles and reach each level’s exit together. The journey emphasizes cooperation, timing, and smart use of the environment.

Objects, obstacles and puzzle mechanics

Across 10 levels you’ll encounter 15 objects and hazards that test logic and spatial reasoning. Highlights include:

  • Cheese — Nim’s favorite snack; Belcho isn’t fond of it.
  • Carrots — A treat for Belcho; Nim is on a carrot-free diet.
  • Dragon Fruit — A strange snack that swaps Belcho and Nim’s positions when eaten.
  • Doors — Red, Yellow and Blue Doors open to progress your route.
  • Buttons — Red, Yellow and Blue Buttons control door access.
  • Keys — Red, Yellow and Blue Keys unlock doors when found.
  • Bottomless Pits — A dangerous gap that demands careful movement.
  • Mouse Holes — Too small for a rabbit, avoid plunging in.
  • Mouse Traps — Triggered hazards that you must bypass or time around.
  • Additional objects and hazards complement the core set, creating varied challenges as you progress.

Atmosphere and accessibility

A classical soundtrack accompanies each level, matching the intensity of the puzzles and helping you feel the rhythm of exploration and discovery. Joint Force supports multiple input methods, including keyboard, touchscreen, and controller, with detailed guidance available in the game manual.

Modding and openness

Joint Force is available as open-source software. It supports creating and loading custom levels via Tiled, a free map editor. You may download the source code, build the game, and even implement your own changes to craft new puzzles or gameplay styles.
