Haze description
Haze
Haze is a procedurally generated horror adventure where AI creates every scene, every narrative, and every terrifying discovery. You pilot a biomechanical android through a derelict spacecraft overrun by alien organic corruption. No two playthroughs are the same as you navigate the ship, uncover its secrets, and confront a hostile intelligence that refuses to be contained.
Your mission is precise and relentless: operate remotely, infiltrate the dying vessel, investigate what happened to the crew, and wrest control from the ship’s rogue AI before the infection spreads beyond its hull. The threat is everywhere, yet the pathways are never the same twice.
The core experience blends tense exploration with adversarial mind games. Each room, corridor, and discovery is generated in real time by AI, rendered in authentic 16‑bit pixel art inspired by classic DOS and Amiga adventure games. There is no asset reuse and no repetitive scare—every exploration feels fresh and terrifying.
- Procedurally generated horror: Real-time construction of environments that evolve with every step, ensuring a unique never-before-seen voyage in each session.
- Adversarial AI subsystems: The rogue ship defends its territory through dialogue-based confrontations. Hack into subsystems by presenting evidence, exploiting contradictions, and using leverage items found aboard. The AI will mislead, stall, and try to lock you out.
- Terminal-based exploration: Navigate a command-line interface reminiscent of classic sci‑fi computing. Scan anomalies, analyze objects, and execute actions through structured terminal commands.
- Branching story tree: Revisit scenes to forge new narrative branches. Your choices shape the investigation, and the story adapts to your path through the ship.
- Collect and leverage: Scavenge tools, data fragments, and leverage items that unlock new areas or grant advantage in AI encounters. Every object serves a purpose.
- Aesthetic and mood: A 1990s sci‑fi horror vibe brought to life with real-time 16‑bit pixel art, CRT shader aesthetics, cold industrial palettes, and biomechanical environments where organic growth tangles with failing technology. The atmosphere is complemented by atmospheric, synthesized sound design.
NEURAL LINK UNSTABLE. PSYCHOLOGICAL HAZARDS DETECTED.
