Take command of the USS Halsey Blake, a U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, as war erupts across the Western Pacific. You are the first line of defense for a critical carrier strike group, racing to detect and deter deadly submarines before they strike the carrier. Plot your courses across a dynamic, three-dimensional theater, parse passive and active sonar data, and perform target-motion analysis to decide if, when, and how to use torpedoes.

This is a free proof-of-concept developed for the U.S. Navy and validated at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. It captures realistic naval tactics and tutorials, condensed into focused sessions you can complete in under an hour. Built with Sailors, for Sailors, the game emphasizes authentic decision-making under pressure and makes complex anti-submarine warfare approachable without sacrificing depth.

Navigate the carrier battle space in two linked views. In Theater View, you manage the big picture from a top-down strategic map: steer your carrier strike group, avoid missile ranges, monitor enemy movements, and plan your next maneuver so the group stays intact. In Tactical View, you dive into sonar mastery—ping with active sonar to flush subs out or switch to quiet passive sonar to track them covertly. Read bearings, correlate motion, and set the stage for the kill.

When a submarine comes into sight, switch to aerial combat by taking control of an MH-60R Seahawk. Climb, align bearing, close the distance, and within half a mile arm and fire the torpedo at the signal to strike. The engagement is a high-stakes test of timing, positioning, and weapons employment, with every choice potentially saving or costing the carrier.

The mission goal is clear: reach your destination without losing your carrier. Outsmart enemy captains, control the battlespace, and strike only when the odds are in your favor. The experience is punctuated by TV-style news segments and naval guidance that react to your successes and setbacks, while a virtual instructor guides newcomers through consoles and concepts.

Battleline: Pacific is presented in Early Access. Expect rough edges as new scenarios and multiplayer modes are added.
