Siege at Sundown description
Siege at Sundown
Siege at Sundown is a 1v1 top-down PvP strategy centered on short, high-stakes castle sieges. By day you hunt for coins and strengthen your fortress; by night construction ends and the siege begins. Each night grows longer, and the final night is endless until one fortress falls.
Day: hunt, build, and plan
During the day a truce protects buildings, so no damage to structures is allowed. Meanwhile heroes and armies clash over coins and artifacts on a symmetrical map. You contest monster camps, coin spots, chests, and safe artifact stalls, upgrading defenses and preparing for night. There is a single currency: coins. Your hero carries them in a bag, and death drops part of your load, which your opponent can pick up. To secure income you can bank in the treasury, keeping your resources safe while you push on the map. Construction and upgrades draw coins from both bag and treasury, turning every push into a calculated risk.
Night: raids, sieges, and temple power
When the sun sets, the truce ends. You can no longer place new buildings and must press the strengths you built during the day. Your army and hero unleash the power earned from day actions. Each night is longer than the last, and the final night has no timer until a fortress falls. At the map center sits the Temple of Plenty, a focal point that drives decisive action. By the third night, players contest the temple, defeat its boss, and construct a civilization-specific temple. The temple applies ticking damage to the enemy fortress and prevents matches from stalling in endless defense.
Heroes and civilizations
Seven starting heroes each represent a complete civilization and playstyle: northern mountain clans, a pirate confederation, eastern sultanates, a techno-theocracy of the future, a masked Renaissance canal city, Slavic marshlands, and jade provinces. Each hero blends a classic role (tank, duelist, mage, commander, assassin, engineer, warrior) with unique architecture, building priorities, and tempo. Every hero has two active abilities and one passive. Instead of mana there is energy shards—spending shards for abilities that regenerate over time, creating clear timing decisions about when to dive, retreat, or hold charges for the next clash.
Combat clarity and presentation
The combat is designed for readability: top-down camera, thick projectile tracers, high-contrast attack zones, and short audio cues so it’s obvious who hits whom and with what. A faceted low-poly art style keeps the screen clean, friendly to weaker PCs, and ideal for streaming or playing on Steam Deck. The game supports controllers for a comfortable experience across devices.
