Arenosum description

Arenosum

Arenosum is a strategy game that pays homage to the progenitor of real-time strategy, while redefining what a modern RTS can be. It preserves the core pillars you expect—resource gathering, base building, and the creation and management of troops—yet it restructures them into a deeper, more tactile war system that rewards planning and adaptability.

Economy and resources: The game introduces a more detailed economy where logistics, processing, and sales run alongside production. Resources are divided into financial and physical assets, creating a two‑tier flow that demands careful timing and currency management. Physical resources require careful routing, storage, and on‑line delivery to frontline units, making every depot and transport route a strategic asset.

Power, networks, and limits: Energy is not transmitted wirelessly; it must be deployed through a dedicated network. This turns power into a tangible battlefield asset you must protect, route, and upgrade. In addition, ammunition and fuel are finite, forcing you to anticipate supply lines, ration usage, and resupply campaigns rather than relying on endless reserves.

Units, personnel and progression: Everything on the battlefield—soldiers, buildings, and equipment—is part of a unified management system. Personnel gain experience and retain it when switching between different vehicles, creating continuity of competence across your forces and enabling veterans to influence multiple platforms over time.

Equipment and structure: Equipment and buildings feature a composite component architecture. Damage directly alters the properties of fighting units by degrading those components, so the state of individual parts matters. Repairs, upgrades, and component interactions shape performance in real time, encouraging careful target prioritization and adaptive loadouts.

Physics, tactics and combat: Ground and air movement follow realistic physics, enabling complex nonlinear battles and authentic ballistics. Position, momentum, cover, and fire geometry interact in ways that reward precise timing, terrain use, and coordinated strikes rather than pure numbers on a sheet.

Surveillance and deception: Camouflage options and reconnaissance mechanics influence what information you have and what your enemies perceive. Effective scouting, intel gathering, and counter‑reconnaissance become decisive elements in shaping engagements and planning routes around detections.

AI customization and balance: The game supports creating custom AI modules to tailor management comfort and challenge. The built‑in AI is constrained by processing limits to stay fair, ensuring human players can outthink scripted behavior and leverage creative tactics.

Arenosum invites you to master a living battlefield where every resource, every connection, and every shot counts. It remains a modern tribute to RTS heritage while inviting strategic experimentation, technical depth, and a relentless focus on systemic design that rewards foresight, adaptability, and skill.
