Trapped
Trapped is an immersive VR horror-thriller that places you in the shoes of Peter, a man wrestling with a traumatic past, mental illness, and addiction. After a concussion during an accident, you wake in a dimly lit, unfamiliar hospital room with no memory of how you arrived. Yet this is no ordinary hospital—the corridors feel alive, the walls pulse, and whispers echo from the shadows as you push toward the truth you fear to uncover.
You must journey through the shifting landscapes of your own subconscious. From the sterile, decaying wards of a haunted hospital to the lonely, echoing halls of a boarded school and the crumbling rooms of your childhood home, every environment changes as your mind deteriorates—and every step brings you closer to key memories or devastating distortions.
What you do
- Immersive VR Exploration: Navigate a tactile, nerve-wracking world where every door you push and object you touch pulls you deeper into the nightmare. The world actively responds to your presence, simulating the physical toll of moving through a fractured reality.
- A World That Breathes: Reality bends as you progress. Doors slam, lights flicker, and ordinary objects distort while Peter’s mental state teeters on the edge. Shadowy figures watch from the periphery, forcing you to question what is real.
- Light is Your Weapon: There is no conventional violence. Survive the darkness with your flashlight, using light to reveal hidden truths and guide you toward memory and escape.
- Environmental Storytelling: Clues lie in diaries, medication bottles, and audio recordings from Peter’s mother, Mari. Each artifact peels back another layer of the trauma that binds him.
- Choose Your Fate: The ending hinges on your choices. Will you confront your demons with empathy and truth, or succumb to anger and destruction? Your decision to wield light or a gun shapes redemption or perpetual nightmare.
The game emphasizes atmosphere over spectacle, inviting you to experience psychological horror through sound design, pacing, and intimate environmental details. Your actions ripple through the world, altering pathways, revealing or hiding memories, and changing how the story unfolds.
Narrative depth comes from environmental clues and voices from the past. Diary entries, medication traces, and intimate recordings reveal a complex history that explains why Peter remains trapped—and how the truth might finally set him free.
Are you brave enough to face the monsters within? Only the truth can set you free.
