Maneuver Warfare 2: BTG description

Maneuver Warfare 2: BTG

Command modern battalion tactical groups (BTGs) in a tense, map‑based conflict inspired by the 2022 Russo‑Ukrainian War. Build BTGs by combining infantry and armor units drawn from the divisions and brigades deployed on the battlefield, then maneuver them across a detailed map of Ukraine to seize key victory objectives. Single missions grant map control, while campaign play lets you win the entire war by dominating multiple maps.

BTG construction and maneuver

Create versatile BTGs and direct their movements to pressure critical locations. Each BTG can be augmented with a range of combat support elements, forming a flexible force capable of sustained engagement across diverse terrains and conditions.

Support and firepower

  • Air defense batteries to protect your BTGs from aerial threats
  • Engineer companies for mobility and fortification tasks
  • Anti‑armor companies and self‑propelled howitzer batteries for offensive or defensive firepower
  • Multiple rocket launcher batteries to shape the battlefield from a distance

Attach indirect fire assets to BTGs or position them on the map to provide flexible support. Prioritize units to channel firepower where it matters most and sustain momentum during breakthroughs.

Air and mobility operations

  • Control fixed‑wing aircraft and attack helicopters, assigning mission types such as battlefield support, strikes against headquarters, logistics hubs, air defense elements, or artillery units
  • Conduct airmobile operations by deploying airborne battalions via transport helicopters to surprise routes and flanks

Special forces and intelligence

  • Assign special forces missions for reconnaissance or raids targeting headquarters, artillery, or other assets
  • Gather battlefield intelligence through satellite imagery to inform decisions and timing

Support and recovery on the map

Deploy field hospitals and repair units to treat wounded troops and repair damaged equipment. Track recovery progress in real time as personnel heal and vehicles return to combat readiness.

Campaign management

In campaign modes, manage reinforcements and replacements, assigning them to units to maintain combat effectiveness or to gain a numerical edge in critical regions. Use these resources to sustain offensive operations and steer the war toward your strategic objectives without losing the initiative.
