Giantfall is a minimalist medieval kingdom builder and tower defense real-time strategy game. You design and grow a thriving settlement while defending it against marauding giants and mutated creatures that threaten your realm.

Core gameplay loops center on building and expansion. Design towns and villages to generate essential resources—food, wealth, and above all defense. Grow crops, establish lumberyards, and mine stone and iron to supply the workforce, attract settlers, and equip your armies.

Defense drives every decision. Erect towers, walls, and defensive structures to hold back increasingly dangerous foes. Start with simple archer towers and advance to powerful ballistae, catapults, and bombard towers. Research magic and unlock enchanted towers by founding a mage school.

Armies and tactics matter. Build diverse forces to defend weak points or strike at exposed targets. Develop new technologies and skills to strengthen buildings, defenses, and troops, and deploy traps and magical abilities to outsmart the enemy.

The threat is continuous. Ordinary creatures mutate in response to food and opportunity, from carrot-loving Giant Rabbits to seagulls that threaten your rooftops, and even mutated humans from nearby islands seeking meat and shelter. Your economy must stay healthy to sustain defense production as walls fall and are rebuilt even stronger.

Boons and artifacts provide powerful twists. Discover magical artifacts that grant strong advantages, whether improving your troops, economy, or citizen well-being. Use these to tailor the challenge to your preferred playstyle.

Play modes offer varied experiences. Enter Survival/Skirmish on a random map with endless attacks, shaping the challenge with your chosen Story Teller, difficulty, and boons. From peaceful town-building to rampaging monster hordes or undead threats, each game presents a distinct rhythm and strategy.
