REIGN description

REIGN

REIGN is a deep, role‑driven strategy and diplomacy game set in the late Ottoman Empire of the early 1900s. Stand on the edge of collapse and reform as you steer the state through crises, balancing power, prestige, and survival.

Every turn brings a new crisis: economic turmoil, internal unrest, foreign pressure, diplomatic standoffs, and the looming threat of a military coup. Surviving 100 turns requires careful timing, bold decisions, and the ability to read the pulse of the Empire.

Eight roles, eight playstyles lie at the heart of the game. Each office has unique strengths, weaknesses, abilities, and hidden agendas. Play solo or with friends in a dynamic state simulation for 1–8 players, with AI bots filling missing roles for a complete experience.

  • SULTAN — Imperial authority: veto and approve, issue reform decrees, dismiss the cabinet, and maintain public legitimacy. The ultimate decision‑maker is powerful but surrounded by pressure from every quarter.
  • GRAND VIZIER — The engine of the state: coordinates crisis operations, organizes decision‑making, mediates conflicts, and balances diplomacy with internal affairs.
  • MINISTER OF WAR — Master of the army: controls internal security and external defense, modernizes the forces, manages budgets, and weighs coup risk.
  • DEFTERDAR — Architect of the economy: tax regulation, debt, salaries, inflation control, and the fate of the treasury.
  • MINISTER OF JUSTICE — Guardian of the law: combat corruption, decide punishments, and navigate censorship and social justice.
  • MINISTER OF INTERIOR — Keeper of domestic stability: read the public mood, manage satisfaction, counter propaganda, and prevent uprisings.
  • MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS — Diplomatic strategist: negotiate with great powers, ease foreign pressure, manage trade, and steer the Empire away from conflicts.
  • HEAD OF INTELLIGENCE — Master of shadows: run espionage, covert operations, informant networks, and detect coup preparations.

The game uses dynamic Event Cards—history rewritten each turn—featuring economic crises, diplomatic confrontations, rebellions, espionage incidents, and foreign interference. Every decision reshapes the Empire’s heartbeat and redraws the balance of power.

In this multiplayer state simulation, players debate, negotiate, form secret alliances, and pursue hidden agendas. Each player sees a different side of the state, ensuring rich, evolving intrigue as history is written by your hand.

Victory comes only by lasting 100 turns. If the treasury runs dry, foreign occupation looms, uprisings erupt, the army mutinies, or diplomacy fails, the Empire falls. Survive all 100 turns and you and your fellow players win—though only one will be remembered as the architect of the era.
