Song of Cells description

Song of Cells

A system-driven roguelite set inside a living body, where every action destabilizes or restores the organism you inhabit. Your choices reshape a mutable cellular battlefield as resonance slowly collapses around you, challenging you to balance risk and control in real time.

  • Resonance system — A Global Pressure System that continually declines through each run. Slowing or ignoring resonance changes the tempo of your descent; if you push too far, time turns against you. The world responds to your presence as resonance fluctuations destabilize organs and trigger mutations, making encounters feel alive and adaptive.
  • Gunforms and Harmonics — Begin by picking a core Gunform, from broad pattern attacks to precise energy beams or volatile close-range flamers. Harmonics then reshape your build with run-defining boons that reconfigure attacks, weave resonance effects, or redefine how energy and projectiles are channeled. The weapon’s fundamental behavior stays consistent, while Harmonics bend the way you wield it from run to run.
  • Organs, Overdrives and utilities — Every organ grants a powerful active ability, creating dynamic moments in combat. Overdrives are deliberate, high-impact interventions that translate biological functions into tactical effects—cleansing detonations, defensive surges, aggressive impulses, or area-control fields. Organ-specific utilities with cooldowns enhance movement, positioning, and precise responses when pressure peaks.
  • Resource extraction and costs — Harvest resources to upgrade and adapt your swarm bots. Extraction comes with a price, forcing strategic decisions under pressure as you weigh immediate gain against long-term stability and safety.
  • Blueprints and protocols — Find blueprint protocols to unlock new types, craft them in the Hub, and equip them as consumable run modifiers. Protocols persist once unlocked, letting you assemble progressively stronger or more exotic configurations across runs.
  • Nano-AI and environmental mutability — An experimental nano-AI awakens inside the body, and the world responds to your presence. Resonance shifts destabilize organs and trigger mutations, while enemies, rooms, and biological systems adapt to your evolving build, shaping each encounter in unpredictable ways.
  • Hub loop and replayability — Between dives you return to a central hub to convert recovered blueprints into usable protocols and prep the next deployment. Hidden organ chambers reveal fragments of Song of Cells, a layered narrative that unfolds only through repeated expeditions. Mutable builds, evolving environments, and a resonance-driven encounter system ensure no two runs are the same.

Low stability introduces new dangers—but also rare resources and hidden opportunities for those who dare to push deeper. Each expedition begins with a defining Gunform choice, then evolves through Harmonics, Overdrives, and organ utilities as you navigate a living body where timing, adaptation, and careful resource management determine your fate.
