NULLA VIA
NULLA VIA is a WW2 psychological horror experience built around a town deliberately erased from memory. Explore a fully abandoned place preserved exactly as it was left after the war—ruined homes, bunkers, mass graves, and streets that remain forever silent. There are no residents, no rebuilds, only echoes of a violence that history refuses to explain.
Wassim is a historian driven by the silences of World War II. His mother is French, and his grandparents were among civilians murdered in a small village destroyed by SS soldiers—an act documented and sealed as a permanent memorial. Decades later, he travels alone to a nearby town sealed off by history, a place where the living never returned. What he seeks is a truth that the war itself seems to have left unfinished.
Then a blast changes everything. An old unexploded charge detonates; Wassim survives or perhaps does not. When he awakens, the town is intact but altered. The streets are crowded with shadows and silhouettes that move without sound. Figures appear where no living person could stand. Is he dead, dreaming, or trapped in the final moment of consciousness after the blast? The horror is psychological, written into the places themselves.
Gameplay centers on environmental storytelling with no narration. Wander through ruined homes, bunkers, and silent avenues while uncovering a past the game never explains outright. Use both gunfire and image to fight for your life—or your memory. Wassim can wield authentic WW2 weapons (Tommy Gun, Mosin-Nagant, Luger, and more), but bullets alone are meaningless against the unkillable shadows.
A crucial tool is an old military camera fitted with a powerful flash bulb. Repeatedly reload the bulbs under pressure and unleash bright light to burn shadows into physical form. Enemies must be exposed to light before they can be harmed by fire or gunfire, and some entities resist all force. Others exist solely to watch.
NULLA VIA tackles themes of civilian massacres, inherited trauma, and an obsessive pull toward the past. It asks whether some places are meant to stay untouched and whether the memory of violence is a burden we can ever truly escape. This town was never rebuilt for a reason—and some paths were never meant to be walked again.
