Vampires of the 99th Night description

Vampires of the 99th Night

A roguelike dungeon crawler where vampires, physics and base management collide. Each night brings new danger, but the real challenge happens in the quiet parts: trading, building, and maintaining your gothic lair.

Core loop

Survive procedurally generated dungeons and an ever-challenging overworld across 15 biomes, facing more than a hundred monsters and thousands of items and weapons. Each night grows harder—you’ll likely perish, but the long game is a meta-game of expanding and refining your fortress.

Physics, blood, and clever combat

The blood is a dynamic fluid simulation — it splashes, drips, pools, and dries. It isn’t just decoration; it shapes strategy and atmosphere. Combat isn’t only about firepower: you can perform physics-driven moves, recoil, and timing to outsmart foes. A memorable feature is Combat Billiards, where you can fling enemies into cages with precise shots.

Unique minigames and encounters

Trading isn’t a simple menu. You haggle through physics-based minigames: tilt a bottle to pour blood for a chalice, balance coins on a wobbly scale, or parry electrical arcs from Tesla coils. Mastery in these challenges affects discounts and outcomes.

Base and castle management

Between runs you build and expand your tower and dungeon complex. Dig out caverns, establish an Alchemist Lab, Throne Room, and setup cells to house captured monsters. Captured foes become resources, fueling expansion and new capabilities.

Why 99 Nights?

Each night ups the difficulty, creating a punishing yet rewarding cycle. The game leans into a memorable finale: you’ll push your limits, and leave behind a spectacular bloodstain as you press on to manage and grow your fortress—no matter how many times you die.
