Catmarine

Catmarine is a 2-4 player cooperative, chaotic typing game set inside a cat submarine exploring a vibrant ocean world. Players must work together to guide the Catmarine through a hazardous undersea environment, sharing roles and timing commands to keep the vessel moving and alive. It’s a fast, humorous test of teamwork, communication, and lightning-fast fingers.

The core loop is simple but tense: you roam the Catmarine to reach active terminals scattered throughout the hull. Each terminal controls a crucial function—speed, direction, and combat actions—yet none can be operated without typing. A text bubble beside every terminal presents the required word, and you must type it correctly to activate the command. Words vary by function and level, with some sessions throwing in mirrored text or penalties for misspellings to keep everyone on their toes.

Traversing the ocean is a team sport. You and your crew must coordinate timing to issue steering commands and navigate around expanding hazards. The sea is alive with danger: spikes that interrupt momentum, pufferfish that puff up barriers, giant eels, sharks, and other sea creatures that block progress. Some threats can’t be dealt with directly; they must be avoided or maneuvered around using precise, synchronized typing-driven actions from the terminals.

Catmarine emphasizes collaboration and clear communication. Callouts, quick exchanges of information, and matching the quick pace of the typing challenges all contribute to a successful voyage. The experience rewards teamwork, precise typing, and the ability to read the ever-changing currents of the ocean as a unit.
