Maledictum description

Maledictum

Maledictum is a 1–4 player co‑op horror investigation game where you step in as an Investigator of Guilt. Your mission is to identify the haunting entity, uncover the victim, culprit, and cause through story evidence, and then perform a final ritual to either free or condemn the spirit as it reacts to your voice and choices.

Hauntings are not random evil—each is the fallout of human acts: betrayal, cruelty, sacrifice, silence. The truth lies in what someone tried to bury. Your job isn’t only to survive the night—it’s to reconstruct what happened and decide what should happen next.

Two-layer Investigation

  • Identify the entity: Use classic investigative tools and paranormal evidence to determine what is haunting the location.
  • Solve the Case of Guilt: Piece together the full tragedy behind the haunting—who the victim was, who the killer was, how the death happened, and what binds the spirit to this place.

You’ll comb the house for story-driven evidence—letters, photos, diaries, reports, and disturbing details that reshape the case as you go.

A Haunting That Reacts to You

The entity doesn’t just patrol; it responds to your progress and your voice. Move closer to the truth and it may grow more aggressive. Reach wrong conclusions and it becomes manipulative, feeding you misleading sounds, distorted clues, and chilling echoes. Proximity voice chat is integral—the entity reacts to noise, shouting, panic, and whispers, and at times demands silence or launches sudden attacks.

Replayability & Randomized Mystery

5 maps and 50 stories, with multiple variants per case. The narrative system is randomized per contract, so the same house can hide a different truth each time. No two investigations feel identical.

The Final Ritual

When you think you’ve solved the case, perform the ritual and choose the outcome: Free the spirit or Condemn it. Every choice has consequences, and getting it wrong can backfire—the haunting may escalate, and escaping alive could become your only goal.
