World Layers

World Layers is a psychological horror that follows Yuki, a 17-year-old who has moved to the quiet city of Solitel. When danger erupts from the shadows, you and your friends are dragged into a descent through hidden realms, where terror and death wait at every turn. The goal is simple in name but brutal in practice: find a way back to the surface, navigating five increasingly perilous layers.

Layers and Journey

The adventure spans five interconnected realms: the Overworld, The Occult, Hell, Heaven, and The Unknown. Each layer imposes its own rules, dangers, and mysteries, demanding careful exploration and keen observation. Progress requires making choices that lock in paths, reveal new allies, or open deadly enemies. To escape Solitel, you must endure every layer and confront what lies beneath the city’s ordinary facade.

Interaction and Choice

Talk to everyone you meet—friends, strangers, friendly ghosts, and creatures whose smiles hide threat. Conversations shape future events, relationships, and available options. Some characters will aid you, others may betray you, and some monsters can appear deceptively harmless. Your dialogue choices influence the story’s direction and its endings.

Combat and Stealth

Expect encounters with terrifying beings whose sole purpose is to prey on you. You can engage in combat by learning and executing techniques, deliver surprise attacks, or opt for a swift escape. The game rewards wit over brute force; overconfidence or lazy play can be exploited by enemies. Defense, timing, and resource management matter as you balance risk and retreat.

Characters

The cast centers on Yuki, a Japanese teen with a love for ramen, who finds himself at the heart of Solitel’s awakening. His companions include Tia, a loyal classmate and neighbor; Michael, a student from the neighboring classroom who channels emotion through his guitar; and John, another transfer student drawn into the nightmare. Alongside them, a cute ghost and a spectrum of enigmatic figures punctuate the journey, offering help, warnings, or peril.

Endings and Unknown Fate

World Layers emphasizes player agency. Your decisions—to help or betray, stay or flee, confront or hide—shape a branching story with multiple endings, including secret conclusions. The Unknown hints at a watcher who may redefine what you think you know, keeping the truth just out of reach until the final moment.
