SCP – Containment Breach is a free survival horror game created in Blitz3D that drops you inside a hidden sanctuary of the SCP Foundation. This secret organization is dedicated to containing and researching anomalous artifacts and entities that threaten normal life. You play as a Class D test subject—one of the Foundation’s disposable human guinea pigs—who finds the facility plunged into chaos after a massive containment breach. With escaped anomalies roaming the halls, your only goal is to stay alive long enough to escape.

Exploration is your ally. You can search the wrecked facility for documents and other clues to uncover what led to the breach and, in some cases, even try to help fix the situation. The game rewards curiosity with lore and context, while keeping the pressure high as threats close in.

The main danger is SCP-173, an animate concrete sculpture that kills as soon as you’re not looking at it. It advances at a speed that makes a single blink deadly, so you must keep it in sight at all times. The title introduces a blinking mechanic that forces you to blink regularly, often placing you in peril as you try to survive in its vicinity.

A core feature is the procedurally generated map, ensuring no two plays are the same. Your route through the facility is never the same twice, and you’ll encounter a variety of obstacles. Decontamination gas can accelerate blinking, many doors are locked by key cards with higher security clearances or by specific access codes, and timer-switch controlled doors add another layer of tension. In addition to SCP-173, several other escaped SCPs contribute to the danger and unpredictability.

Your objective is clear: escape the SCP Foundation as a Class D survivor. Outrun SCP-173 and navigate the maze of corridors, alarms, and locked pathways as you search for a way out. Each run is a tense race against time and the unknown, where every decision could be fatal.

This release is a fan-driven project that embraces community involvement. It includes extensive Steam integration, DirectX 9 support for broad compatibility, and strong modding and workshop capabilities. The bundled Containment Breach Room Editor Extended (CBRE-EX) makes it easy to design and share custom rooms, offering a robust platform for ongoing community-created content.
