Rela — a celestial sandbox

Rela is a compact astrophysics sandbox that lets you craft your own stellar systems in the vast emptiness of space. The experience centers on stepping into the role of a celestial body and guiding an evolving cosmos, from newborn stars to evolving orbits. The simulation emphasizes accessible control and a sense of cosmic scale, inviting you to shape gravity, orbits, and stellar interactions with intuitive inputs.

Core ideas at a glance:

• Advanced yet approachable astrophysics simulation: build, observe, and interact with star systems in a void-like canvas.
• Take the perspective of a body within the system, feeling the pull of gravity and the dynamics of orbital motion as you move through space.
• Time controls let you pause the flow of time, resume, or rewind to previous moments, enabling careful study of cause and effect.
• Open-ended, non-linear gameplay: no fixed goals, just the freedom to experiment and discover by exploring how systems respond to changes.
• One-handed friendly interface with multiple input methods, designed for ease of use on keyboards, mice, or alternative controllers.
• Strictly minimalist UI that keeps the focus on the wonder of space while providing essential tools for creation and observation.

This return to the basics of space science emphasizes observation, experimentation, and curiosity. You can create new stellar configurations, adjust masses, or set orbital parameters, then watch as gravitational forces sculpt new structures over time. The experience rewards patience and careful experimentation, revealing the delicate balance that governs celestial bodies and their trajectories.

Rela is well-suited for both curious newcomers and seasoned simulators who want a tranquil, contemplative space to explore gravitational physics without the distraction of flashy action. The core loop—set up a system, watch it evolve, pause or rewind to compare outcomes—offers a satisfying rhythm that prizes understanding over quick wins. If you crave a quiet, reflective space where you can sculpt a universe and step inside it, Rela invites you aboard for a journey among the stars.
