Tombbound description

Tombbound

Enter the role of Ushabti, magical workers bound to serve Anubis, the God of the Dead. Your mission is to sail the Solar Barque to the deepest tombs of the underworld, seize cursed relics, and return them to the Scales of Justice. The job is simple in theory—hit the quota and survive—but the tombs are alive with danger, and Ammit the Devourer waits if you fail.

Gameplay Loop: Explore procedurally generated tombs that range from claustrophobic burial shafts to grand sandstone temples. Scavenge for golden idols, canopic jars, and cursed scrolls. The heavier the loot, the slower you move—but the boss smiles wider when you perform.

Survive the darkness: Light your torches and tread carefully. If traps don’t claim you, the entities of the Duat will. Flickering oil torches can blow out if you sprint too fast, and you rely on the Stones Compass to find your way back.

The Weighing: Return to the ship and fly back to the Dead Realm. If your loot meets the quota, you live to work another day; if not, Ammit waits hungry.

Features

  • Ancient Atmosphere: No flashlights or radios. Navigate by flickering oil torches and a Stones Compass, listening for footsteps and praying your flame stays alight when you need it most.
  • The Scales of Anubis: Spend soul-gold at the company store for magical tools. Staff of Ra provides a rechargeable beam of light, Sand-Glass slows time and monsters briefly, and Snake Charmer’s Flute distracts enemies—at your own risk.
  • Mythological Horrors: Confront entities drawn from Egyptian lore, from Weeping Pharaohs that move when unseen to invisible Djinn whispering madness. Learn their patterns or become part of the tomb’s decor.
  • 4-Player Co-op: Team up to cover more ground or stay close for safety. Split up to chase loot, or risk it all to recover a fallen teammate and avoid penalties.
