Hexagon Soup is a keyboard-first traditional roguelike built around a single, familiar temptation: taking “one more step.” It’s fully turn-based with permadeath, where every decision is a commitment and every mistake can end a run for good. Your task is clear—descend through procedural dungeon floors, recover the hidden Hex Sigils deep below, and then survive the return journey back to the surface.

Each run is a tense loop of scouting, risk assessment, and resource management. As you explore, danger is revealed piece by piece, forcing you to read threats as they unfold and decide when to push forward, when to reposition, and when to avoid a fight entirely. The dungeon is designed for replayability, with procedural layouts that keep pressure high and information incomplete.

Combat takes place on an isometric hex grid that emphasizes positioning over brute force. Spacing, angles, and distance rings matter—where you stand can be as important as what you can do. Tactical movement, choosing the right approach to an encounter, and controlling the battlefield are key to staying alive.

Character growth is driven by a six-attribute stat system and skill-tree progression. You develop through:
