Vault Vandals description
Vault Vandals
Vault Vandals is a chaotic local multiplayer roguelite for 2–4 players, where you lead a robot through deadly dungeons—without direct control. Instead of moving your character yourself, you issue simple AI directives and watch your robot interpret them in real time. Smart? Sometimes. Catastrophic? Often enough to be hilarious.
Command. Don’t Control. Each run is built around clear orders that shape how your robot behaves:
- EXPLORE to push into the unknown and reveal the fog of war
- LOOT to hunt down treasure and valuables
- STEAL to knock riches right out of your friends’ pockets
- RETREAT when things go wrong and survival matters more than greed
Friends Today, Rivals Forever. You’ll work together just enough to survive the dungeon, then turn on each other the moment gold is involved. The STEAL directive makes betrayal a core mechanic—clean, fast, and never personal. Victory isn’t about being heroic; it’s about having the highest total loot value after 5 rounds.
Build Your Robot Between Rounds. Spend your winnings to shape how your robot fights and survives:
- Weapons: choose from Sword, Bow, or Whip, each with distinct combat behavior and upgradeable stats
- Mods: stack upgrades for wild combinations and exponential power (duplicate mods can dramatically amplify effects)
- Auction House: bid against your rivals for rare, high-impact mods—and decide what you’re willing to pay to deny them
The Wall of Doom. Every dungeon run is a sprint against annihilation. When the timer ends, a relentless Wall of Doom rises from below, crushing everything in its path. Do you grab one more treasure, chase the thief who took your gold, or cut your losses and escape?
Greed Has Weight. Loot makes you richer—and slower. The more you carry, the harder it is to reach the exit before someone else (or the doom) catches you. Cursed treasures offer huge rewards but come with brutal drawbacks like limited vision, reduced speed, or drawing monster aggression. Take the curse for the payday, or leave the riches behind and live.
