DEMIURGE description
DEMIURGE is a dashcam-based police pursuit game that fuses realistic lighting and handmade car physics with retro 3D visuals and VHS-style effects. The result is a gritty, footage-like experience where the line between simulation and spectacle blurs as you chase and confront suspects in a dangerous cityscape.
Set in a dystopian world devastated by a parasitic threat, society collapses into a militarized regime that scavenges for survival. Cars endure as lifelines, and the pursuit becomes a daily rhythm of danger: chase, disable, and endure the toll on your vehicle while the environment around you grows increasingly hostile. The mystery of the parasite threads through every road, fueling a perverse cycle of pursuit and survival.
Gameplay core centers on entering the car, selecting a target, and applying offensive and defensive driving tactics to stop fugitives without being crushed yourself. You collect number plates after a successful takedown and earn credits to keep your car fed and functional. Loot from defeated suspects can be sold at a small roadside shop, helping you secure food and keep your crew alive. You can also plan refuels and even take a break to visit a bar where strange, unforgettable characters share their stories over a meal.
Physics and handling blend a soft suspension with responsive grip on punishing, uneven roads. The maps draw from real topographic data of Brazilian suburbs, delivering a handling feel reminiscent of GTA IV and Group B Rally—fast, technical, and unforgiving. Debris, smoke, and dense fog constantly test your reflexes as you push toward the limit of velocity and control.
Art direction places you across a variety of unforgiving environments: crowded shopping malls, flooded sewers, expansive corn fields, and ruined suburbs. Dense visuals, thick atmosphere, and a persistent sense of danger accompany you as you race through decayed urban and rural landscapes at high speed, where a single mistake can prove fatal.
Vehicles celebrate iconic Brazilian cars from the 1970s to the 1990s, all battered and modified with bars, stronger engines, sirens, and spare parts. These upgrades become tools for offense or defense, shaping how you approach each pursuit and how long you can survive between refuels and repairs.
Visuals and effects fuse low-poly styling with crunchy textures, real-life lightning, and realistic fog to create a dark, atmospheric tone. Processing layers pixelate and degrade, reinforcing the sense that you are watching through a weathered, living dashboard camera. All elements are designed to feel interconnected and fully controllable, delivering a cohesive, immersive driving experience.
DEMIURGE invites you to master a brutal, cinematic form of pursuit where every drive tests your nerve, reflexes, and ability to read a chaotic, post-apocalyptic road.
