What you do

Explore a sprawling, interconnected world filled with secrets, tricks, and challenges. True to the Metroidvania tradition, new abilities unlock new routes and reveal hidden areas, inviting you to backtrack with purpose. Your choices and the paths you pursue shape the story and may lead to different endings, encouraging multiple playthroughs.

Combat

Face off against classic Halloween adversaries—mummies, witches, vampires, and the dreaded Spider Queen. Combat centers on ranged projectiles, echoing the genre’s roots but enhanced with modern twists. A limited parry lets you deflect projectiles, stun melee attackers, and heal, creating high-risk, high-reward moments. If you prefer an all-out assault, the game also supports a run-and-gun approach, though you’ll need to time your moves to clear evolving obstacles.

Upgrades and abilities

Patch’s journey is powered by the bond with Pumpkin. Use Pumpkin’s Lamplight to illuminate secrets hidden from ordinary sight and reveal truths lurking in the shadows of the Hallowed Lands. You’ll discover new abilities that boost both combat prowess and mobility. Freeze water to craft and steer icebergs, granting tactical control of the environment. Pumpkin’s Embershot pushes Patch to new heights, letting you jump higher than ever before.

Progression and endings

Progression is designed around player choice. After mastering the basics, you’ll decide how to tackle obstacles and which paths to pursue, potentially unlocking different endings. Along the way, meet a cast of unique characters—like the intrepid Captain Peg—who offer quests, aid, and story moments that enrich the world and deepen the mystery surrounding Patch and Pumpkin.
