Throne of Capital description
Throne of Capital
In Throne of Capital you are a shrewd magnate racing to accumulate wealth and influence. The first player to reach 18 points reaches the throne, but only after their round ends—so rivals can overtake you with their final actions. The game supports 2–5 players and includes a challenging single‑player mode against AI.
The game unfolds in rounds with a fixed cycle: at the start, play order is randomly determined, and only one player may act at a time. When the last player completes an action, the turn order returns to the first player, continuing until the game ends. Each round you choose one core action: Fundraise, Acquire, or Reserve.
- Fundraise: Take 3 normal chips of different colors (silver chips may be taken as a variant) or take 2 normal chips of the same color. You cannot take 2 silver chips in a single round, and gold chips cannot be taken directly.
- Acquire: Spend chip resources to add an asset to your collection. Each asset contributes a color and some assets score points. Assets come in four types: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Silver Card, with Silver Cards often specifying a color.
- Reserve: Lock an asset card and gain gold coins. The locked card does not belong to you, but only you may purchase it. In normal play, reserving is the primary way to obtain gold. In character mode, some abilities can turn stones into gold.
Prestige cards represent milestones: when the colors in your assets satisfy a prestige card’s requirements, you may claim it for a direct score bonus. Strategic collecting and timing of reserves, acquisitions, and prestige cards determine the path to victory.
The game features a dedicated Character Mode with personalities such as Mine Owner, Sophia, Isabella, Marcus, Master Artisan, and Explorer. Each character brings unique abilities; for example, the Explorer has a chance-based ability to earn a normal chip at the end of each round, adding a layer of strategic anticipation.
Endgame and victory are straightforward: once a player exceeds 18 points, the round ends, and the player with the highest score wins. It is not the first to 18 that claims the throne—fighter’s final moves can alter the outcome.
You can play online by creating or joining a room in the lobby, or challenge a friend in a private room. If you prefer, you can also battle against AI for a robust solo experience. Throne of Capital blends careful resource management with bold acquisitions to crown the ultimate capitalist.
