Game Torch description
Game Torch — a cozy minecart ride through your game backlog
Game Torch invites you to jump aboard a tiny, retro-inspired minecart and chase a warm, nostalgic feeling of discovery. Roll through themed tunnels that open with Horror at launch, stopping at shimmering gems that are real Steam games. At each stop you’ll get a quick back-of-box vibe and an option to peek at the game’s Steam store page if you wish. Then you decide—KEEP it in your Gem Collection or CRUSH it and move on.
The ride ends at Camp, a cozy hub where you review your haul and finalize what you’ll bring back to your shelves as part of your personal Gem Collection. It’s discovery turned into a ritual: a little arcade flirtation with your backlog, a discussion with fellow travelers, and a decisive moment when you seal what matters to you.
How it works
Minecart discovery is a fast, focused way to surface games that feel right for you—without the noise of surrounding ads or sponsorships. Use the three discovery paths to guide your choices:
- Surface highlights high-review-count standouts.
- Cult shines through deeply loved, under-the-radar picks.
- Hidden uncovers low-review gems waiting to be discovered.
Each ride features a 1,000-game curated launch set, building a human-curated Horror canon at launch, with Retro and Bizarre canons planned for future updates. There are no paid placements—the mine’s selections aren’t influenced by ads or sponsorships.
You can rely on Ask Danny, the minekeeper Mole, for quick personal takes when available. The experience is designed for real life: a moment of shared vibe, conversation, and that unmistakable “oh wow, this is for me” moment that makes you lean back and say, “I’m keeping that.”
Artwork and presence
Game Torch presents original visuals for game info cards and Gem Collection cards by default. When developers opt in, official key art may appear on those cards. It’s not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve Corporation.
