Loss Prevention is an asymmetric multiplayer experience where two teams clash inside a bustling store. The goal splits by role: the Shopkeeper fights to stop thieves and keep order, while the Shoplifters work as a team to steal every item on their shopping list before time runs out, all while trying to blend in with ordinary shoppers.

Roles

The Shopkeeper must watch the floor for stash attempts, listen for security announcements from the office, and use intuition and positioning to isolate suspicious shoppers. Your awareness and quick reactions matter as you track movement, verify rumors, and respond to alerts to prevent theft.

Shoplifters operate as a coordinated crew, moving with purpose to collect items on the list while blending in with NPC shoppers. You need to balance speed and discretion—rush too aggressively and you’ll draw attention; linger too long and the clock runs out.

Key Features

• Blend in, move fast: thieves must hide among regular customers while grabbing items, but suspicious behavior can trigger a scan from the Shopkeeper or a disturbance from NPCs.
• PA System & Sabotage: the store intercom periodically signals suspicious activity. Shoplifters can temporarily sabotage microphones to sow confusion and disrupt the Shopkeeper’s monitoring.
• Jail Break: if thieves are caught, teammates can attempt a rescue. They face a critical choice between finishing the list or risking capture while freeing a teammate.
• Close-quarters action: combat and evasion unfold around aisles and corners. Both sides have opportunities to outmaneuver the other with careful timing and strategy.
• Team dynamics: success hinges on communication, role coordination, and adapting to evolving situations as the intercom cues shift and rounds reset.

The experience emphasizes tension, strategy, and cheeky humor within a store setting. Watch for stash attempts, heed announcements, and decide when to push forward or pull back. Will you uphold order as the Shopkeeper, or execute a clever caper as part of a disciplined Shoplifting crew?
