Checkmate Defence

A strategic auto-battle tower defense where your choices—and your luck—decide the outcome. Summon and merge turrets from 1★ to 6★ to halt wave after wave of relentless foes. Every decision, from merging and selling to positioning and upgrades, reshapes the battlefield.

Core Gameplay

• Summon and merge turrets to build a formidable defense against continuous enemy waves.
• Upgrade your arsenal through in‑battle choices and luck-driven rewards that appear during a run.

Controls and Actions

• Movement: Use WASD or the Arrow Keys to move.
• Summon: Press Q to summon a turret.
• Merging: Press E to merge turrets.
• Selling: Press R to sell a turret (note: 6★ turrets cannot be sold).
• Placement: Press Z to pick up a turret, X to place it.
• Mines: Approach a mine and press 1–5 to assign a turret to it.

Turret System

• 1★–5★ Turrets: Merge two identical turrets to obtain a random turret of the next tier.
• 6★ Turrets: Spend 200 coins and select two 5★ turrets from the recipe to summon a 6★ turret.
• 6★ Turrets cannot be sold, preserving their power on the frontline.

Progression and Upgrades

• In-Game Upgrades: Acquire higher‑rarity upgrades based on your Luck during a run.
• Lobby Upgrades: Earn resources by clearing Boss Waves and unlock a variety of upgrades in the lobby to bolster your defenses for future runs.

Collection and Lore

Turrets discovered through summoning and merging are collected in the Collection, where you can view their details and revisit their traits.
