IMRY description

IMRY

In the shadowed forests of the 1970s Soviet Union, you step into the boots of Imry, an ordinary geologist sent deep into the Siberian taiga to investigate anomalous ore deposits. What begins as a routine survey quickly reveals that something is watching you back. The instruments whisper in patterned noise, compasses spin with impossible inertia, and maps refuse to match the land you traverse. The forest itself seems to breathe, its branches rustling with a language you can almost understand but never quite grasp. As you press farther from civilization, the path behind you erases itself, and the world around you begins to rearrange on the turn of a moment. The air grows thick with memory and fear, and the line between science and superstition blurs.

Escalating oddities multiply: impossible animals drift through glades, and you encounter strangers who claim to be agents, friends or foes, and sometimes something else entirely. Some speak in half-truths, others offer cryptic warnings, but none provide solid answers. Attempts to retreat end in dead ends, and every choice echoes through the taiga, altering how the land looks, what dangers lurk, and which voices you hear in the trees. You are not merely solving a mystery; you are shaping a fragile limbo where time, space, and memory collide. Exploration becomes a careful negotiation with a living world that resists a single explanation. Every step tests your nerve, curiosity, and willingness to trust your own instincts.

IMRY is an isometric, story-driven RPG built around atmosphere, exploration, and meaningful consequence. The world unfolds through your decisions, and each action can push the story toward escape or further entanglement. The setting channels existential dread and wonder, inviting you to weigh evidence, question loyalties, and decide what you owe to a land that may never release you. The game evokes the spirit of the Strugatsky brothers and a lineage of classic RPGs, blending thoughtful storytelling with tactical, situational challenges in a meticulously crafted environment.

Act I is available now, inviting you into the taiga and its secret. Act II is planned for Q2 2026 as a free update, expanding the mystery, refining systems, and adding new paths—and perhaps new chances to break free. The soundtrack, composed by DavidKBD — The Last Pack, drifts beneath the footsteps of Imry, enhancing the sense of place and dread as you wander deeper into the unknown.
