Remnants: Omision
The sin lies not in what you did, but in what you failed to do. Remnants: Omision is a first‑person psychological horror walking simulator powered by Unreal Engine 5. You will not find monsters to shoot; you will confront the tangible embodiment of your own cowardice and moral failure as you wander through a world built from memory distortions and guilt.
You play as a Collector, a condemned soul traversing Remnants to purge the sins of others. In this episode, you relive the story of a man who sent his friend John into a forbidden cave after following an ancient map. When John disappeared, the protagonist did not call for help or seek the truth. Fear and apathy kept him silent. Now you are trapped inside a nightmare that fuses an oppressive Soviet bunker with ancient temples, and your omissions must be faced.
Three entities stand ready to judge your Omission. The Lion weighs your Fear, the Sage weighs your Willful Ignorance, and the Girl weighs your Lack of Mercy. Their judgments determine the course of your fate as you navigate through memory, consequence, and consequence’s echo.
Key features
- Next-Gen Graphics: Immersive atmosphere powered by Unreal Engine 5 and Lumen. Realistic lighting that unsettles your perception and deepens the tension.
- Permadeath: No save points and no second chances. If you fail or quit, the cycle restarts from the beginning, forcing you to confront what you did not do.
- Atmospheric Horror: There are no cheap jumpscares. The fear comes from 3D audio, claustrophobic spaces, and environmental storytelling that rewards attentive observation.
- Condensed Experience: A tightly designed journey intended to be completed in a single sitting, approximately 45–60 minutes, focused on atmosphere and introspection.
- Multiple Endings: Your fate hinges on whether you admit your guilt or surrender to eternal denial, offering replayability to explore different outcomes.
Gameplay requires focus and self‑examination. The game does not hold your hand; you must listen to the audio cues and read the environment carefully. Darkness is part of the challenge, shaping both mood and meaning as you decide what you choose to confront—and what you choose to overlook.
