Intersectio

Intersectio is a turn-based tactics experience about a fragile balance between body, mind, and soul. The protagonist stands between two abysses, and survival depends on keeping equilibrium as the world bends around them.

In this compact, strategic journey you control every move with the core Focus mechanic. Before each action you slide a slider between body and mind. The chosen focus reshapes your abilities and shifts the nature of the fantastical world you explore, turning battles and encounters into expressions of inner state. Physical action may unlock stamina, resilience, or brute force, while leaning toward mind unlocks perception, deduction, and strange environmental effects. The slider’s position also alters how enemies behave and how terrain responds, inviting you to balance aggression with restraint.

The battlefield unfolds as tactical, thoughtful engagements where positioning, timing, and resource management matter. The Focus system forces you to weigh two competing pressures in every decision, creating a rhythm where insight and action alternate as you navigate the forest’s strange logic.

Each run is short, typically around 15 minutes, making Intersectio ideal for quick strategy sessions or revisits to chase a different path.

The Steam release expands the experience with endless mode, offering a continuous loop of encounters that test your ability to sustain balance over time. This mode complements the main narrative, inviting longer play sessions and repeat plays to mastery of the Focus dynamic.

Storywise, your journey leads to one of three endings, each unlocking a different perspective on the protagonist’s choices and their consequences. Depending on how you invest in actions, you glimpse different facets of the story and uncover the deeper mystery behind the dark forest and what it truly represents.

Intersectio began as a MyIndie Game Jam Level 5 project, built around the theme “Found Its Meaning.” The jam origin informs the game’s concise length, tight mechanics, and meditative mood, while the expanded release invites players to linger and experiment with meaning across many short, strategic runs.

Turn-based tactics, focus-driven decisions, and a haunting forest setting combine to create a game that rewards thoughtful planning and personal interpretation. Short sessions, meaningful consequences, and multiple endings make Intersectio a compact but lingering exploration of balance, belief, and the meaning we assign to the spaces between extremes.
