PANLINE description

PANLINE

PANLINE is the Civic Flow Engine that sustains abundance for all in The City. It weaves governance, economics, and public infrastructure into a living system where essential goods—and many non-essentials—are produced at zero cost. The city hums with a new order where information moves through an inverted hierarchy, and power sits in the hands that control the flow.

Edge of a New Hierarchy

Runners thrive as brokers of attention, shaping the new seat of power. You join the Charter—a network of couriers, fixers, and data traders—driving a demanding, exclusive economy. Between jobs, The Base becomes a trading floor for favors and introductions, where trust is earned, traded, or broken.

Movement as Skill

Movement is your language. Techniques are handed down by senior runners, refined on real routes, guarded like precious tradecraft. Earn their approval, absorb their routes, and peel back the city in layers—discover new paths, vantage points, and passages once closed off.

The Work That Still Exists

A hidden contract economy runs beneath abundance. Jobs surface through anonymous boards and forums, paying in access tokens, off‑grid favors, and data time. Some runs are simple handoffs; others chain into multi‑stop routes where timing, distance, and conditions matter. The gear you carry sets the tier of contracts you can take.

PANLET: Your Runner’s Keyring

Your off‑the‑shelf PANLET is jailbroken and customized by the crew, turning it into the perfect runner’s keyring. It’s also a physical kit that can fail in the field—bad landings or slips crack it, forcing repairs before you can rely on it again. Firmware upgrades expand its reach, unlocking new infrastructure access across The City.

Non‑linear, Open City

The city offers no map—only sightlines, landmarks, and a compass to keep you oriented. Pick a direction and run, but never forget the way you came. The day/night cycle shapes your plan: run by day and return to base at night to consolidate, until you gain a Night Running Pass.

Salvage, Inventory, and Risk

Salvage found in The City fuels repairs, upgrades, and means you can tackle riskier contracts. Inventory space is limited, with secured slots protecting your most valuable cargo after slips. The work grows as you unlock districts—progress follows movement, PANLET capability, and social reach.

Hub and Progress

The Runner’s Hideout is where you repair gear, upgrade your loadout, and stash favors for night work. District progression opens new areas as you develop routes, enhance PANLET skills, and expand your influence—the city rewards the patient, precise, and well-connected courier.
