Trackline description

Trackline

Trackline is a rhythm-based action game set in a sprawling urban underground. You play as a Walkman-wielding rebel pushing through tunnels, factories, and transit hubs where danger hums to the beat. The city’s depths feel like a living drum: walls pulse with bass, pipes hiss in time, and every step and swing lands with musical weight. Neon corridors flash as you sprint, jump between platforms, and strike, all while the soundtrack drives you forward. It’s a compact, high-energy arcade experience that blends retro attitude with industrial grit and a fresh sense of tempo.

The core mechanic is tempo control. Swap between Fast, Medium, and Slow cassette tapes to shift the tempo of both you and the world. When the tempo climbs, enemies move faster, traps tighten, and your hits land with sharper timing; slow tempo gives you space to plan. You can switch tapes mid-combat to chain moves and ride the beat, turning risky moments into rhythmically satisfying sequences.

Tempo shapes the environment as well. Toxic floods surge with the beat, industrial fans accelerate, and trains rumble along tracks to the music. Hazards become opportunities when you time your movement to the rhythm. Reading the rhythm is as crucial as aiming a strike: time jumps, dodges, and attacks to the current tempo, and let the world sync with your actions.

Three-dimensional platforming spans multiple handcrafted stages. Jump between rails, cross gaps, and maneuver around moving obstacles while staying synced to the cadence. Each stage is designed to deliver a cohesive arc of combat and traversal, inviting you to refine timing and discover smoother routes on subsequent runs.

Roughly 30 minutes of gameplay per complete run, propelled by a pulsing soundtrack that fuels both fighting and platforming. The tempo you choose shapes enemy speed, attack timing, and how the world unfolds, offering a compact, focused experience that rewards rhythm literacy and precise timing.

  • Rhythm-powered combat synchronized to cassette tempos
  • Three tempo modes Fast, Medium, Slow
  • Tempo-responsive environments with poison floods, industrial fans, and moving trains
  • 3D platforming across multiple handcrafted stages
  • About 30 minutes of gameplay per run with a pulsing soundtrack

Trackline invites players to master tempo as a core skill: time your strikes, jumps, and dodges to the music while the world shifts around you. Every beat matters, and each run offers a fresh path through the underground.
